It was hard for me tonight to sit across from this man, red in the face, asleep with his burdens, and photograph him. I felt something in his tiredness that I know in myself; it was for this reason that I took his picture. I know times when I believe in nothing, when I have no energy for anything, not even myself. But– I am thankful that usually after these moments of nothingness, that I am so frustrated at my carelessness and disregard for what I do have, that I pull myself out of it. I have something to pull myself back to. I feel only sympathy for those who do not.

Upon getting home for winter break this year, I rediscovered my dog and my camera. This is what ensued.

Using final cut pro and only the finest materials available (I also found the first recording ever made [ala Thomas Edison's cylinders] that someone put online,) I crafted this short film. I hope that you enjoy it.

I’ve recently been on a crusade. One to better my understanding of digital photography and image editing, while doing the risky and explorative things that must be done while on a road trip with one’s best friend. I took a photo workshop with Alec Johnson ( http://www.acjohnsonphoto.com/ ) for several days this week and came away with quite a few images. I’ve been bouncing in between Grand Marais and Duluth searching out things of visual interest and excitement. Here’s some of what I’ve come across.

I’m working on a new song called “walking”. This is picture of the session in my dad’s studio in rural Wisconsin using a Neuman 103 and an AKG 414 to record guitar.
